Was thinking of doing the 300 BLK with the Noveske 10"...anyone know what kind of effective range you can get with a setup like that?

    Barrier Penetration?

Was curious about the penetration of the [factory] .300 BLK through traditionally encountered barriers (windshields/tempered glass, wood, heavy clothing, etc) in all loads. I am pretty sure that the 220 grain loads would penetrate pretty well. The 155 grain is the load I see myself shooting most, both suppressed and unsuppressed, with some of the 220 grain stockpiled as well. Just kind of curious as to what I can expect out of them.

Thanks in advance for any info guys.

I had a chance to catch up with a DevGru operator last month. He hasn't deployed in a while, but they have had a 300 Whisper as an option to use in the past.

They worked with BlackHills to develop a load suitable for them and this is what they used. I forgot to ask him what type of bullet they used. This is a long shot, but does anyone know what type of bullet has/had been used?

I eagerly await for more options than the 300 BLK 220gr. subsonic, which is all I could get my paws on for now.

220 Outlaw State bullets, loaded to about 1050, into ballistic gel last week (no barriers):

A step in the right direction.

At left, not really relevant, a 165 subsonic soft point, and a subsonic 240 SMK. Both went to the end of the gel block stack and stopped on an armor panel. Hornady A-Max's in the mag.

On top of the mag, sub-cores from the Outlaw bullets. There are four of these as the forward part of the core, and you can see a little cross on top of the rear core where they were seated. They shed into the gel at about 6", the back half of the cores stopped at about 20". Bear in mind these gel shots were about an hour out of the cooler and were into multiple, used blocks. Each had a shot or two through it; my shots were at 90 degrees to these.

Remington 125 AccuTip shot from a AAC 9" upper at 12 feet. Bare 10% gel.

Just a slight correction to my last post. In the mag are Hornady 110 V-Max's, not 208 A-Max's. Although they both have red plastic tips they are pretty easy to tell apart by the much larger ogive of the 208.
