    Hello,

Can you tell us which of the 3 mil-spec steels you use in your barrels? Can you also post a copy of the cert for the steel?

This is the only pic we have of an Armalite carrier key stake job: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-...3/Armalite.jpg

Don't know if this how you do them all or not, but this would not pass the mustard for quality.

    Thank you for your input.

    Welcome Armalite.

ALCON: Since we're talking about Armalite now, here's more from the same gun. The receiver end plate supplied with the gun was swapped for a single-point plate, and I don't recall what the staking looked like. Hope the rest is helpful.

(Bushmaster note: Bushmaster uses mil. spec. Chrome Moly Vanadium steel and chrome lines the bore and chamber on all but its DCM Competition barrels.)

they think they are using the right stuff, the chart gives them a maybe, what's up?

There are only 3 steels that are allowed to be used by the Military. All of these steel's have a cert with them. BM has been asked to show proof of this and has not followed through. This means that they are most likely using the cheaper 4150 steel that does not come with a certification.

Unless we know for sure that taper pins are required as part of the TDP maybe a column should be added for straight pins.

Armalite, LMT, RRA, Model 1 and some others use straight pins.

Sorry for the delay guys, i have been out of town making sure that your right to keep and bear arms is not infringed on. I will get the pictures up as soon as possible. The picture you have of the carrier stake job is not indicative of an Armalite rifle at all.

I will assume that you are joking. Or maybe you just enjoy talking about firearms instead of owning them.
As a matter of fact the Boss is in Geneva right now representing DSAAC in the potentially-threatening UN Arms Trade Treaty deliberations. Somebody has to do it.
