I'd say at least half the value of the weapon.

If they loose it and you have to get another, then it's going to need fitting and all that stuff which is going to cost money.

after calling I found out we had a communication breakdown, they are sending a call tag to fix the sight.all's well

I would have to agree with this. for weapons that would never be the "same", with a replacement part, I've insured the parts at the full value of a new weapon.
