    ...but this one is mine

So I started this build in 09, it has seen multiple stocks, optics, flash hiders and a different barrel.

    newest configuration

when it was a 14.5 with a perm. attached FH

    Mega Lower
    Daniel Defense LPK
    KNS anti-rotaion pins
    Magpul K grip
    Magpul BAD
    Oversized mag release
    KAC Ambi-selector
    KAC trigger guard
    DD bolt
    Spikes buffer
    Magpul CTR with enhanced pad
    Magpul ASAP and MS2
    BCM Gunfighter Mod 4
    Vltor MUR-1 upper
    Daniel Defense 10.0 Lite Rail
    Noveske SS 10.5" barrel
    KAC irons
    BattleComp
    T1 on KAC mount
    Magpul AFG
    stippled KAC rail covers
    Surefire G2 in Vtac mount
    Larue index clips
Gasbuster mod, care of 03 Design Group

I built this for general purpose and home defense. I wanted it to be short maneuverable and as accurate as it could be. It runs great. I decided on these particular parts based on my experience with others. I tried multiple stocks, grips, fore grips and comps/flash hiders as well as optics. The rail is a tad overkill for only a light and a grip but i like not having a front sight post.

Thanks, I hope to add a Surefire light and Battle Comp 1.0 eventually. It has been changing since the day I put it together.

He may do what I sometimes do... use a small optic like the t1 and use it as a rear aperture.

The KAC micro sights are, IMHO, good for looks on a rifle. I had a BCM/URX II upper built by gun gallery, and the ONLY thing I did not like about it was the micro sight. The first class I took with that upper I shot irons only for 3 days. The rear sight was very easily getting pushed down, it wouldn't stay up and in place, and everytime the sight was moved it was also moving out of adjustment from where I had it zeroed. IE, it would click down and move a notch, then I would push it back up and it wouldn't stay in place, everytime a click over on the adjustment, so 3 or 4 times and your sight in is gone, goodbye.

This was not an environment I would call hostile by any means, there was no reason for that to go on continuously.

If you really will ever use your irons, which you should for practice, I would not trust that rear sight. I couldn't get it off soon enough and put a Troy BUIS on there. The Troy's are easy to adjust, and stay where you put them.

This is "my" subjective opinion based on my experience. If you have a complete KAC build and most likely never use your irons because you only use your optic then have it, just to have it complete, but I do not care for it.

You stating the opposite of me is also subjective, but maybe you have not had the same experience. That's what's wonderful about the forum, we can all share experiences and leave others to gather as much info as possible and make their own decision as to what "fits" them and "their" needs.

Again, not bashing KAC, I just didn't care for the sight based on my experience.

Not because my sisters, brothers, cousins, boyfriend told me on wikipedia that the sights are no good.

There are many members of this board that share my same opinion as well from having similar experiences.

Plus the OP already has a Troy front buis on his rifle, easier just to complete the set.
