I don't know for a fact that it's the same style bolt, but it would make since.

    Hi Bill,

How is the new 'semi auto' chamber getting on?
did you look up the Hornardy 45grn ammo?

    Pete.

Very slowly I am afraid! The diversity and disparate types of 22 WMR ammunition makes this project a much greater task than the 17 HMR. There are at least two ammunition types which refuse to feed and I am yet to generate a reliable method of ramping the gun in a mass production environment.

The most annoying thing is that we are so close but not quite right.

Thank you Bill - good luck in the pursuit - I think you will solve an issue for the whole industry on this one.

The value I see in 22 magnum is where 22 LR is not enough but 5.56 mm is too much, as in a suburban predator or feral dog hunting situation. There is a niche but it is narrow. Shooters are famous for wanting things that are out of the ordinary, I am a perfect example, I could go on and on about calibers and guns I have that I will never need. A 375 RUM or 458 Winchester magnum for example. This is a justification for making them, because people will buy them even if they don't make a hell of a lot of sense for every shooter.

Although we are restricted to rimfire only in a semi auto format we are not restricted as to magazine capacity.
We can have centrefire AR's in the UK but they have to be built to be straight pull single shot; not semi auto, even then though we can still have hi capacity magazines.

I currently own a Remington 597 .17 HMR and as soon as I can get the money together to ship it I will have it converted to .22 WMR. I had the opportunity to shoot a bolt action .22 WMR and really liked it. So far the 597 hasn't done anything bad yet I don't dump mags. I normally shoot slow with it and it has been a great shooter so far. But as Remington has offered to turn it into a .22 WMR for me I am going to go that route. I really like the handling of this rifle but I am afraid it might explode on me if I decide to dump a mag full of .17 HMR.

    Mr. Alexander

Will these be complete rifles at first and complete uppers to follow?
