Vltor A5 Receiver Extension, Spring and Buffer Kit on a MK12?

I am considering putting a Vltor A5 Receiver Extension, Spring and Buffer Kit on a MK12 to mimic the recoil impulse of a rifle length system, since that is what the rifle was designed for. Would a SOPMOD stock fit on the Vltor A5? The receiver extension is supposed to be longer than a standard carbine extension. I assume that means it will not collapse down as far the Vltor A5. Correct? How much longer is it?

With the SOPMOD closed as far as it will go you will have about an inch of exposed receiver extension.

I am thinking of doing it. I just wish Vltor sold the tube, spring, and buffer as a kit by itself instead of buying the stock with it too. No need for one of their stocks and don't want to have to try to sell it.

The buffer/spring is out of stock but the RE is in stock. DAMN IT!
