    I would say Yes it's a good idea. I just installed one on a 18" Noveske with an intermediate length gas system. It has a very soft recoil impulse. If you are looking to use it on a Mk12 upper with a rifle length gas system it should work well.

    Why would it look any different than any other RE? It would have more potential LOP, but other than that, it would look no different.

    I'm wondering what it looks like with the extra LOP, and how it looks when it's as far in as it will go...

    Hmm might have to try that if the A2 doesnt work out.

    I read somewhere that Crane didnt like the SOPMODS with carbine buffers on it due to bolt bounce.

    I see. I'd like to see how long it gets fully extended I guess.... although I can't imagine going longer than an A2 stock.

    Correct, they had the problom on full auto as I understand it.

    For M-16s they now have a collapsible buttstock kit using standard M-4 buttstock parts and a "H6" buffer. Never actualy seen one though as it's fairly new.
