165 accubond is tight, yo! Pappabear and I shot one into water jugs at 300 yards.. and then for a Home defense test... One into water jugs at like 15 yards.

    That bullet is impressive.

For banging ammo I was running Widners (PriP) 145 FMJBT with H-4895. For accurracy I found that Varget and SMKs were surprising accurate. I just need some more testing and higher magnification above 4x to confirm. There is some good data to start with over on FN Forums in the Ammo/Reloading sub forum

+3 to using IMR 4895 or 4064 with 155-168 bullets. This is a classic match recipe and a great starting point for any semi-auto 308. It also seems that the pressure curve of these powders is good for gas guns to run most reliably as well.

The 155/168 SMK, 155 Nosler Custom Comp, and 168 A-max are all excellent bullets and given market circumstances any would work for your purposes.

I worked up a load that shot well in my 308 AR:
    168 A-max
    40.5-41.5 IMR 4895, OR
    41-42 gr IMR 4064
    CCI-200
2.820 OAL (loaded to max length in 308 PMAG)

Commercial brass - can go a little bit higher in load range. LC/WCC brass - stick to 41.5 max.
