Pappabear, this is Blackfoot 7, roger. Other than resting the gun on a bean bag and confirming the offset's zero, I have practiced engaging targets at close range with them. They're very effective in that regard, but if you're lacking upper body strength and endurance then you will most certainly reach muscle failure in a relatively short time, especially in this configuration. Nevertheless, I'm confident they will serve me well in a pinch if called upon to do so. I love shooting irons and I put back-ups on every gun I'm able to.

ETA: Pic added. Running an SR15 Mod 1 with a 1-6x LPVO w/ KAC offsets

    SR25 ECC with E2 bolt
    KAC MAMS brake
    NF 2.5-10x24 Mil/Mil
NF 30mm Ultralight mount with 20MOA built in
Aimpoint T2 w/ KAC offset mount
    KAC 45 degree BUIS
Surefire M600U w/ Haley Strategic mount
    Magpul MIAD and STR

The 45 degree sights might be overkill. I was worried that the standard irons wouldn't clear the scope when mounted, so I zeroed the 45's last week before the scope showed up. Looking at it now, I think the standard irons would clear, and I might re-install them later. The 45's do co-witness with the T2 though, which is kind of neat

Took the rifle out a few hours ago to zero the new scope, this rifle is a hammer. That's 3 rounds of LC M118LR at 100 yards.

And finally, my beauceron puppy wasn't happy that I wasn't taking pictures of her, so I let her give me her best pose. Say hi to Legacy.

Is this an 18" or a 16"? Hard to tell but to me it looks like a 16".
Been going over how I want to do my .308 and yours is pretty much perfect. Granted I'll be doing it much more budget friendly but I think that's a winner.

A special thank you is owed to the Gun Gallery in Jacksonville, FL for acquiring the optic in such a short amount of time and for superseding my every expectation in the customer service department.

Thank you for the kind remark. I am a fan of your photography and I love the way that you have your AK's configured. It is great to see you on this side, my friend!

It started out with intentions as a night hog gun only, but slowly worked it's way into my heart and now it's all I reach for no matter the season. The nights of a green light are coming to an end soon....Pulsar Trail thermal arriving! I have really run the stink out of this gun and it just continues to make me happy for my needs and that's all I ask of my hammers. Drive the nail when I do my part.
