Some MRP barrel updates. A couple posts back I posted that I had sent one of my 16" CL barrels to Marvin Pitts to get turned down from .75" to .68" for weight reduction. I found that the weight reduction wasn't that great. Well, I got a wild hair and decided to send my 16" SS 5-r barrel to him to have it dimpled and black coated. Now I have in my possession a 16" CL bbl, a 16" CL bbl turned down to .68", and a 16" SS bbl that's been dimpled. They all share the same muzzle device installed so they are a same same comparison.
What's interesting is that the dimpling was about a 3oz weight reduction, as was the .07" diameter reduction. However, the dimpled barrel should retain its original rigidity. I'll be curious to see how the SS barrel groups now compared to before, and how well it does as it gets hot......and gets shot suppressed.
    Pics speak for themselves.

Ever since I picked up a 10.5 barrel, I wasn't getting any use out of my 16" piston barrel. So, off to Mr. Pitts it went for cut & dimple. This configuration will see more use, for sure.

Changing some things around on the MRP family. Looking forward to how it turns out.
    Before:

The suppressor is still part of it all, but I sold all three optics. Got a 2moa micro for the short MRP, a pre-order for a new nightforce 2.5-10x24 that'll go on the MWS and I still need a 1-4 for the long rail MRP.
The CQB MRP will also get a 12.5 " barrel by next summer.
    Now:

The long rail MRP is also now sporting a 16" SS 5r rifled barrel that's been dimpled and cerakoted by Marvin Pitts.

Super awesome rifles, and barrel work brother. You're definitely a resident MRP SME with that collection!

Perfecting the optics on perfected rifles.....sounds perfect

Moved the aac miter brake to my long rail MRP.
