    Question Israeli 5.56 M193

Hey Guys, I'm new to the forum and have an ammo question. I got my hands on some Israeli 5.56 M193 ammo the other day and haven't shot any yet. It's a head stamp shows that is was 1992 manufacture. Can anyone tell me anything about this ammo before I shoot it?

    Thanks for reading... Anthony

From my understanding IMI has always been some of the best quality ammo available. I have used IMI from around that time frame, it was very good ammo for me back then. Wideners currently has some in stock. Unfortnately I may have to skip it, I live in the same state as Wideners but too far to drive so I would have to pay sales tax and shipping.

I was doing some reading on it however, and as it may be quality ammo, Yankee Hill says not to use it in there rifles because it seats too far into the chamber and creates too much pressure. I used a micrometer and it is ever so slightly larger then a few different 5.56 loads I checked. Have you ever heard of this happening in other AR variants/models?

Probably because YHM barrels are not true 5.56.

IMI M193 is GTG. Sounds like YHM is the problem, not the ammo.

    Doesn't IMI make Winchester's/Olin 5.56mm Q3131A ammo?
