I'm guessing LAV is no longer watching this thread, but maybe someone else who's attended one of his classes can answer. Having watched the Carbine II DVD I was curious as to the use of barricades. As demonstrated, the technique was to basically lean out (slightly) from behind cover. I was taught (by instructors with a similar background) that doing a quick pie was a better choice as frequently one may able to shoot the opponent without him even seeing you. As I recall, I think the explanation by LAV was that his demonstrated technique quicker, but I wondered if there was more to it than that. I can't get over thinking I'd rather be very slightly slower if it allows me to not expose my upper body/head to fire.
