i notice that your BCM bolt has the ghost "MP" mark just like mine. What i mean is that it has the usual gold "HP, MP" from BCM but then it also has an extra non-colored "MP" mark on the other side by whoever the manufacturer is. Would be nice to be able to match it up with another bolt. Not that it matters, just out of curiosities sake since it such a big damn secret.

Is it me or does the BCM staking look pretty weak?

It's just you/the photos. TRIDENT even says that the BCM had the best staking if you read the thread.

I did a "control+f" on the page to see if it had been discussed but I guess I missed it. I think I was just looking for a reason to stop drooling over BCMs

The other two are more evenly worn and thus the load should be spread to all the lugs vs the LMT on the far right. One of the lugs shows no signs of wear at all.

Maybe it matters, maybe it doesn't.
How can you tell? I don't see any pictures of the load bearing surfaces of the lugs.

Here is the skinny on the notorious MIM keys....

This particular process was done specifically for LMT's military contracts and had absolutely nothing to do with anything else, esp. penny pinching/boosting profit margins.

To say LMT vetted these MIM keys is quite the understatement....during the LMT Gas Key Study, the keys were subjected to more than 135,000rds of ammo.

This is originally from Grant....Karl addresses this issue far better than I ever could

I still cannot believe how many folks went full short bus rider over something that they were completely uneducated about.

Funny thing is that Mall Ninja Joe cannot risk/trust MIM keys in his end times setup, but he is all good flying at 30,000ft. in a Boeing or Airbus that has so many MIM parts it's ridiculous.

Is it just my eyes or does the BCM FP hole look enlarged or is this just carbon?

    Nice writeup by the way...

Mainly just a thorough soaking in Hoppes Elite/MPro7....gotta love a product that is non toxic, non vaporous, and works while you don't

That is my fault then as I thought about including an up close shot of the staking when posting the thread, but I figured it was already evident to some degree in the pics already posted. Maybe these will be a bit better...

    (L to R...Colt, BCM, LMT)

    BCM(left) VS. LMT(right) Staking....
