If it's too heavy, open up the buffer and replace one or both of the tungsten weights with steel. It's mentioned later in the Vltor A5 thread and there are directions and weights on the Vltor site somewhere.

I don't think markm has had a problem with his. We shot it a couple of weeks back. It runs like a champ on my 11.5" SBR.

I have found that a "Blue" Sprinco/TacticalSprings buffer spring and standard "H" buffer works best with my 14.5" Middy.

    Update 3-28-11

The majority of the parts came in today and I slapped everything together for a quick and dirty show and tell.

Looks great! Let us know how it shoots and how much the final product weigh after you put everything together.

You didn't have any alignment isssues with the rail and vltor upper? I couldn't align a TRX extreme with a vltor due to the stop.

I don't know yet. It was loosely put together and wasn't tightened down. It's currently at ADCO getting the BC pinned. I told them to slap everything together as well. I'll find out shortly.

HOLY CRAP..then again I only had Surefire plugs in. I can't imagine shooting it next to fellow officer in close quarters and indoors at that. Yikes.
I use the same ear pro as you and had the same revelation when switching from the BC1.0 to KAC triple tap. Didn't really gain much in the rapid fire control department from the switch either.
Anyone considering making that switch, don't!
