We should stay on topic.
If YOUR NAME isn't on the NFA form, you don't own it.

LEO's can get a stamp on their own with their name on the form. I have in fact seen personally owned and registered NFA items in NY. Sadly, even with an exemption, we get treated the same as civilians do in NFA friendly states i.e. CLEO's refuse to sign. Whether a trust is possible... Who knows? But it is legal for individual officers to own their own items.

Ive got an 07/SOT in NY and the NYSP specifically called to say that I cannot shoot anything NFA off my manufacturing premises unless its for a demonstration to LE/MIL or I would be arrested.

    I Love NY!

If your name is on the form, it is yours.

And I hate to break it to you, cops are civilians.

You are simply civilians who have accepted a public trust and a sometimes difficult occupation.

    Agreed

We are not exempt from Federal or State laws on firearms ownership. We put our pants on just like anyone else. In some states that still follow (or have had laws simliar for years) the AWB, we are allowed to own "prohibited" firearms (Title I "assault rifles") or high capacity LEO magazines. However, the moment we are no longer an active LEO, we must sell those items or be charged with a crime (Kalifornia comes to mind as one of those states).

Just like any regular joe, I cannot own a post 86 class III firearm just because of what I do for a living.

Now back to talking about SIG 552's and the people I will hate for being able to buy one.....

In my opinion, everyone should be allowed to own NFA items, including new manufacture machine guns. That's one exemption no one has. NY is ridiculous enough as it is and practically everything I own would have to be liquidated or I can just move to a free state. Sucks but we have to deal with what we have. Anyhow, you can hate me Alaska. I'm definitely picking one up.

Ok, so I sold one of my Nighthawks and I am seriously building funds for the possibility of a 552. How does someone get a hold of this guy because the website does not work. Has anybody got his contact info?

I'm pretty sure he took the website down because he's not ready to accept orders and was getting bombarded. He doesn't even know exactly how much they will sell for yet.
