Troy VTAC rail/Mid Length FSP question

Hello.... can the 9 inch Troy VTAC rail be mounted to a midlength rifle (16 inch barrel) with standard FSP and be able retain the original FSP? Or would the FSP have to be ditched and a low pro gas block need to be added?

If your FSB was originally set up on a mid-length rifle then yes a 9" rail will allow the use of the FSB.
