    M16A1 triangular handguards on a modern M16A4?

I've been eyeballing the BCM rifle upper for some time now and would like to get one when they start making them again.

Essentially, I'd like to have all the modern amenities of the A4, but I'd like to have it dressed up with the A1 furniture. I prefer the shorter LOP of the A1 stock.

Is it possible to attach the A1 triangular handguards to this particular upper?

If you want the modern eq of the Triangle Handguards, get the Magpul MOE rifle-length.
My brother saw Deliverance and bought a Bow. I saw Deliverance and bought an AR-15.

The magpuls don't look a thing like the triangular A1 handguards. WTF?

The BCM looks like it has the triangular cap, so they should fit

They have a triangular profile without the taper. They feel similar.

I want to stick with the original A1 stock set. I want the old school look with the modern upgrades. I don't want to go with Magpul; it looks very modern to my eyes.

I do like the look and feel of the original handguards but they are much more fragile than modern offerings.

Yes, they fit. My father did the exact same thing with his rifle.

Its fine, they will fit and you should have a nice rifle when you are done.

I mounted a set of Triangle Handguards on a 20" AR of mine and did a little hunting with them on.

I found them to be very slippery with bare hands and had to add a few wraps of black athletic tape.

I would imagine the right gloves would have taken care of it too.

They looked very sexy, but I changed back to the round A2 handguards for better grip. YMMV
