Galil in 7.62x39

I was at a local shop today and picked up a Galil, ( Not a Century ) which I figured would be an IMI. To my surprise it said Norinco and 76239 on the receiver. I was confused until I asked the guy behind the counter about it. He said a guy built a Galil using a Norinco Ak receiver as the action. I wanted to buy it so bad, but was gunshy because it was not a factory build. A Galil chambered in 76239 would be so bad ass. They wanted $1700 for it and you could tell it was NOT a safequeen. Would you have bought it?

There have been a number of Galil clones built using a Norinco Hunter and Galil parts. They have the potential to be a good gun, depending on who did the conversion. $1700 is waaay too much money for one though.

Yea i would have scooped it up for 900-1000 bucks. 1700 was to much!
