The difference between the PRS for the 223 guns and the 308 guns is the checkpiece on the 308 guns is shorter to allow for the longer travel of the charging handle on 308 guns.
Buffers and springs etc are irrelevant to the PRS differences. Yes, the 308 guns may use different springs and buffers but those are not part of the PRS. If you replace a fixed stock on your 308, use the same spring and buffer that came with the gun, whether or not you use the 223 or 308 version of the PRS.
