More gunshop wisdom: The Beretta "M9A2"

Was talking with a clerk at the local gun shop the other day. The topic was US Military handguns, and his assertion that "Dude, word is that the Army is going to start buying the Beretta 92A1 as the M9A2". I didn't know what else to say but "Really?".

More keen insight from the gunshop crowd?

Was he trying to sell you a 92A1?

I was actually pricing these at the time, and may end up buying one.

Well as long as you get a good price, I guess you can deal with inane, unsubstantiated comments like that.

I'm pretty sure that the Marine Corps is buying the M9A1 as the M9A1. If you don't know better, it's easy to mistake the 92A1 and the M9A1 for being the same.
