Montana Gold is usually the best price for 55g commercial bullets. Got to buy like 4000 at a time though, but its about the best price I have found and the bullets are damn good too.

Widener's has the best deals I know of,

    Hornady 55 gr FMJ =

6K for ~$449 including shipping or $.0748 per round

Lake City 55 gr FMJ =

5K for ~$390 including shipping or $.078 per round

    Privi 55 gr FMJ =

5K for ~$380 including shipping or $.076 per round

And as previously mentioned, Montana Gold

3.5K for ~$268 including shipping or $.0766 per round

To get any cheaper, you have to go to pull-downs at least that I've found.

    I don't shoot pull-down bullets, but here's a place I buy powder:

    http://iidbs.com/hitech.zkb?root&GEN...4&object-menu6

They're a low-tech operation, but the powder shoots fine.

    3K for ~$192 + shipping = ~$.064 per round

    or

    http://www.rvow.com/surplus%20bullets.htm

1K for $40 + shipping for "M855" supposedly, if they ever ship.

Are they usually slow with shipping? $40k for M855 has me interested.

In my single dealing with them, yes.

They are spotty on availability vs. what they show on the website and slow to ship, but like I said, my experience is very limited.
