    LMT MRP Barrels

I've finally taken the plunge on a LMT CQB MRP 16" DI. I had to break the bank a bit, so I'm hoping I'll never see the need to upgrade the actual rifle.

I'm looking to eventually get a NFA Tax Stamp for SBR and I'm wondering, what do I actually need to swap barrels.

From my understanding if you want to go from 5.56 -> 6.8 or .22 you need a 6.8 Barrel/.22 Barrel, respective BCG, and new magazine - is this correct?

Now if I simply wanted a shorter 5.56 barrel, can I simply buy the barrel - something like this:

And will I be good to go? Or is there another piece I need.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the fast reply

Now I also noticed on that page it says "Not to be used with the full length rifle version MRP receiver." Full Length would be 18 or 20"?

If I have the 16" CQB version, will I have any issues putting in that 10.5" barrel?

    Thanks brah

Now while I've got this thread open..

Anyone know where or who makes a .22 conversion (Barrel, BCG [Or do I just need the bolt], Mag, assuming thats it?) for the LMT MRP? I read spikes made one, but I haven't had any luck finding it anywhere.

The rifle length MRP is referring to the chassis. The rail is longer (about 13 inches) which is why you cannot use the 10.5 inch barrel in them. The CQB version is just a shorter rail.

Spikes Tactical is not currently manufacturing/selling the 22lr MRP barrel. I emailed them about it myself two weeks ago.

Bummer! Were you able to find any other manufacturer's or are we pretty much out of luck?

I've wondered if there is an AR 22lr barrel out there that you could have DBMG machine to fit. If you are new to the MRP check them out. Now you can have any barrel you want.

    That looks really interesting!

Do I have to look for barrels within a certain diameter? Will have to get one with the low profile gas line too right?

If I found a .22 barrel could you recommend any place to find a compatible BCG and mag?

    Thanks
