Why friends don't let friends drive Armalite

Just got this photo from a dealer friend. Brand new gun after four rounds of factory ammo, shot while suppressed. No other details at this time, but will post as I get them.

That's a .308 bolt and carrier from an AR-10, right?

I believe so. Was just fondling it a couple days ago in his shop where it was awaiting suppressor installation

Was it a factory built upper or a home build/custom build?

I bet the fit and finish was FANTASTIC though!

And I'm sure if it wasn't his HD weapon then its probably OK it failed after 4 rounds. I mean it has a lifetime warranty right?

Is that the new lug-less bolt design? Good thing it didn't go tits up on him when it mattered.

I bet he contacted the manufacture 1st before running this around to all his friends & the Internet too!

A few years back I got a tour of Microbest & to my amazement, they were/maybe still are, a OEM for for Armalite. Lots of boxes being packed with AR10 parts (BCG's included) going out the door.

Maybe Armalite & their OEM would like the upper back so they can see why their bolt failed & warranty it.

I wonder if a High Pressure Test would have caught that.
