test results on the 55gr ballistic silvertip Nosler/Combined Tech.?

anyone have any test results on these bullets?

I've been looking for a bonded/barrier blind bullet available to reloaders in the 50-70gr range for the 223/556 and have only come up with the following choices
    -50gr ballistic silvertip Nosler/CT
    -55gr ballistic silvertip Nosler/CT
    -60gr Partition
    -75gr Scirocco
    -Barnes TSX offerings

The reason for looking seriously at the CT Noslers is that they cost roughly half the price of the others.

if anyone else has any suggestions on a readily available bullet for reloaders that is bonded or barrier blind I'd be interested in hearing about it and where one can find it available.

The 55gr NBT is a varmint bullet.

There are a few embedded test results with Federal's ballistics workshops, and the penetration comes in short of 12" - usually in the 9-10" category. Like Todd said - it's a varmint bullet, so don't expect great performance against large critters. For fragmenting bullets to be effective in .223, you need to go 69+ gr, preferably 75 or 77gr.

[ETA] The TSX is expensive, but probably the absolute best choice - especially if intermediate barriers are expected. The 53/55gr variants are highly recommended.

Thats really dissapointing. I was unaware that the CT was split up into two classes of bullets (varmint and hunting).

I wish speer would release the TBBC or the Gold Dot again.

Nosler bonded is the Accubond line, no .224 that I know of.

The BT is appropriate for deer hunting, in larger calibers.

The Gold Dot/Fusion component bullet is sold as Speer DeepCurl, but again not available in .224 cal.
