Another new AR maker

I've been watching CORE for a while. They seem to be a little different in nature as opposed to other AR makers. I am interested in some of their less conventional lowers, although, that's all I can say about 'em for the time being.

Ah, and there's a video review here. it kind of explains a little about what "more" is in one. I probably wouldn't buy a core over a Colt but it is an option, I guess.

Some proprietary charging handle that sounds like an attempt at copying the gunfighter CH.

They put the magpul MBUS front sight on top of the gas block, which most of us frown on.

Grippy pattern on the front of the magwell, which is not a well thought of area to grip.

Then an ambiguous claim to be made to "greater than mill spec".


Think I'll pass untill they're proven. And I don't think they will be.

I completely agree.

I will say grip on the magwell is "o.k." but probably a waste of my cash if they're throwing it in the price.

Why do some not like this, and you mean when the gas block has a rail that the front sight is bolted to it?

Heat. The gas block can get quite hot.

So this can be a problem on an issue weapon, makes sense, glad we use optics.

I've shot 4 piston Core 15's. They are decent.

How many rounds did you shoot through the 4? Was this done as a T&E?

I've seen a few articles in magazines recently about them, looking forward to somebody else spending a bunch of money on a gun and like 5,000 rounds of ammo so I can see if they're worth anything at all.
