Hi, new to the forum. Just picked up an Eagle 15 to play with! I would love to hear thoughts on this weapon from others. Retired LEO, so now its time to have some fun!

Howdy from the Texas Gulf Coast.
Oops, already tossed up a longwinded intro post elsewhere. New to AR's but not to shooting, still need to pick up a set of timing washers to finish it but my first build is at a point where it could safely be fired. (Mix of PSA, DSA, and Anderson lower parts and BCG, FAB Defense furniture, CBC Industries upper--with a Wheeler toolkit, it all went together like a "Shake The Box" model kit other than the BCM keymod covers, which look like they'll need a little filing on the mounting tabs and a quick hit of OD Rustoleum to match my furniture.)
Most of my experience is with the 1911 starting in junior high over 20 years ago, then carried in the line during a short Executive Protection stint in college (Mission Accomplished, dissuaded the threat to a point where my services were no longer required, decided to leave the field on a high note), since then don't get out near as much as I should. Most of what little I've picked up has been from my armchair as a military-history student, so little commentary to give, many questions to ask but much to read and sift through from the Been There Done Thats first. Hopefully you guys'll forgive me when I come out swinging with questions, because I have five specific niche builds in mind that I'm going to need a lot of help figuring out how to pull together. (For example, since I'm trying to break back into academia and get a History professorship, one I'd like to build for my students to learn on during class Range Days would be a Nam-era M16 replica rigged to mimic as many as possible of the Vietnam-era model's failures in the field in a safe manner--"All the Frustration, None of the Danger," you might say.)
Greetings from a new guy who normally lives in New Jersey but for the moment lives in China. Proud owner of a Colt M4 and a few other firearms including a Windham Weaponry SRC-308. So it's like big brother and little brother.
I'll throw a question out there - is there any significant difference between a bolt carrier group advertised as for an M16 versus a bolt carrier group advertised as for an M4 ? Both should be mil spec I would think, but I'm not an expert and that's why I'm throwing the question out there.
Going to go look at some pictures people have posted.
