    Any K-Frame love, here?

Hi folks, I'm a big fan of S&W autoloaders, specifically the M&P series. But when I had the chance to trade for this S&W K-Frame Model 15-3, I jumped on it. It's the only revolver I own...for now. I've only had it out to the range a single time, but it really is a joy to shoot. The trigger is so smooth in DA and in SA all you have to do is think about pulling the trigger and it breaks (I exaggerate a bit here, but it is light and smooth, as well).

I've shot it with both FMJ and some +P defense loads. Just put in an order for several hundred "FBI Load" hollowpoints. I can't wait to get some more range time in with this old girl.

Here's the porn (I know she's not wearing an original finish or grips, but that doesn't bother me as a shooter, or non-collector):

I donīt shoot revolvers very often anymore, but occasionally I take this model 19-4 to the range and fire a couple of rounds to stay proficient with wheelguns. The grips are made by "Nill Griffe (Grips)" from Germany. They feel really good and I think they also look very nice on a blued revolver. K-Frames are my favorite revolvers. They have the perfect size and balance in my opinion.

It looks rather shiny in the first pic, but it has the standard deep blue finish. The second picture is closer to how it looks in reality.

Beautiful Model 19! I still need one for my collection.

I have a Model 66 no-dash that I will post pictures of, as soon as I figure out why my camera won't download to my computer.

    I'm a sucker for K Frames.

    I grew up shooting a 6" model 19 and a 3" model 66. I dig the K-frame.

I'm old enough to remember when almost every LEO had a K-frame in their holster.

I still have a couple in the back of the safe. I used to own a factory 3" model 66. The ex got it in the divorce.

I'd love to see S&W bring back the Model 66's.

    Something about a 4" model 19, and a 2.5" model 66, to me, they're classics.

grew up with wheel guns and you will not find a more inherently accurate production gun in a centerfire caliber than a smith and wesson revolver!
Most of mine will group about as tight at 50 yards as most autos do at 25.
no worries about routine spring replacments or trouble shooting bad magazines.
these guns are very underappreciated by todays modern shooter.
they were the gold standard of defensive guns for nearly a century.
another bouns is you can usually buy them cheap- my last smith model 10 ( a 4 inch skinny barrel) was bought for 165 bucks. It will hold a 5 inch group at 50 yards hand held.

I'm old enough to remember carrying one (or two) as a LEO (Now I carry a Glock 22) When my department retired the M-10's and 64's we were carrying they let us buy our last issued one. Mine (M-64 with a 4" bull barrel) is in the vault with a old 5 screw K-22 masterpiece (6") and a K-38 that was set up from the S&W as a S/A only (also a 6") I had a M-64 round butt snub that was traded in when I got a 686. I also have a retired Delaware SP M64 that got turned into a PPC gun. Lots of fun with that one.

Yeah Im a big fan of the K frame revos too.

    Here's a model 64-1 that's been tricked out by a local smith.
Bead blasted finish and Ahrends stocks.

    Numbered and chamfered charge holes.

    Crane detent ball lock.

I've been shooting IDPA with semis for about 5 years and this year switched to SSR with this gun. Learning how to run this thing quickly for gaming has been an uphill, but helluva lot of fun, battle!

J's, K's and L's are great. N's are just a bit too big for my hand and the X is just cartoonish.

My first issue duty gun was a 4" M19. I was only one of a couple students in my Academy class with an autoloader (1911) so Im dating myself a little and all of us trained with the academy S&W"s. Ive owned a gaggle of K frames since then. My favorite by far. I credit Ken Hackathorn for my interest and ability in revolver shooting. We still occaisionally have a revolver day at the range. We have a whole new generation of shooters who have never experienced them and are losing out on half the fun. I would say my two favorites are my 3" 66 and 3" 13
