Did a search on "painting" and came up empty here, so sorry if this is a dupe.

Painting comes in handy to quickly id what kind of bullet you are shooting (e.g., SS109 bullets are painted green to visually mark it as steel core).

One useful application I have in mind is to paint frangible bullets white to distinguish them from fmj ammo - a safety consideration when training in a shoothouse.

Easy to mix up ammo - I can't tell the difference between a Barnes RRLP 55 gr frang vs. 55 gr FMJBT - at least not on the fly.

I've seen some guys dip the top section of the bullets in nail polish - is there another quick way to accomplish this task without affecting bullet trajectory or safety? Spray paint?
