You could use a hyper-miniaturized pico-nuke and vaporize it. You could just as easily use a directed energy beam, either phaser type or disruptor type. If you live near a big particle accelerator like CERN you could get them to burn it out with bremsstrahlung.

I had to get lots of stuff out of my barrel these past days. Accuracy was not killed by the jamming a rod down the barrel a few times. This is not the best thing in your case, however. What I find to often be the case with "stuckages" as I call them is the rod, piece, or bore snake is stuck in the gas port next to the gas block. You for sure ought to take that off and see what you can figure from there. There's lots of creative solutions, and then there's doing everything you can to come up with the best one (ex. Not trial and error)

    Did you get it out?

He tapped it out with a hammer and a piece of drill rod.

Do you know what size drill rod he ended up using?

So how did this nightmare end?

Damn I was following this for some weeks and now in
    boresnake story limbo.

NM, I think I missed a post just above. Sorry I revived this.

I'm eager to hear how this was resolved, too. I had a brand new Boresnake Viper snap at the knot, thankfully after clearing the barrel.

I'm not too keen on using these things for my rifle after that. But, I'm still using one for my pistol. Pulling a busted boresnake from a pistol wouldn't be nearly as much of a hassle.

I'm going to look at the Grovtec EZ clean. Same principle as the boresnake, but it's made with a coated steel cable instead of a nylon cord.

Neither of these take the place of a good patch and rod cleaning, but they do come in handy when a full cleaning session isn't practical.

this thread makes me think twice about using my boresnake. think im going to use a push rod first to lube it a bit than run the boresnake.
