    PT1911 Grip Safety...Interchangeable?

Im about to pick up a PT1911 on trade.

The part of the gun I cannot stand is the grip safety, is it interchangeable with a Wilson Combat aftermarket?

I have read several threads on people changing out all the parts on these guns, the trigger and barrel bushing. Pretty much ALL of the small parts.

My biggest concern at theis point is the grip safety.

    Thanks

you can change anything on the gun, but it will likely require fitting. I doubt that any grip safety will drop in and feel like a good fit without some type of work.

Is it just the feel of the grip safety that doesn't work for you?

    No, Its the contour.

My grip doesnt work with it, if I put my hand up high where it should be, it doesnt hit the safety and the gun wont fire.

The grip safety is high only at the bottom, on a Kimber its raised the entire length of the safety

With most 1911s, any part can be interchanged but fitting is often needed. With a Taurus 1911, it will, likely, be even more so as I have heard of them often being way off spec. YMMV
