Recent observations from range sessions with some gen3 45ACPs

Mid C-serial G21, 2k+ on the gun, student/group loaner gun. Consistent vigorous ejection, all loads. Will sometimes eject case down mag well when mag well empty.

Low L-serial G21SF, 3k+ on the gun, student/group loaner gun. Consistent vigorous ejection, all loads. Will consistently eject case down mag well when mag well empty.

High L-serial G21SF, unknown round count (probably 3k+), LEO duty gun. Probable high diet of +P ammo. Needs new RSA. Vigorous 4:00 ejection with various loads until shooting CCI Blazer 230 TMJ Clean Fire (3480). With that 3480, reasonably consistent 6:00 ejection, some 3:00, a few 6:00-9:00.

Ser# u/k, G30SF, L serial or higher. <1k on the gun, LEO duty gun. Consistent vigorous ejection, all loads. Will consistently eject case down mag well when mag well empty.

gen4 G19, EDC, start date 12/10/12, now at 3000 rounds. During range session tonight I had one case hit my R forearm, one case hit my right cheek, both AE 115gr FMJ (AE9DP). A third round, Fed 147 JHP (9MS) locked up hard on feeding. Case mouth was rolled back on itself. Undetected on mag loading.

gen4 G26, EDC, start date 12/21/12, now at 1003 rounds. No issues.

Just put my Glock Gen 4 G19 at over 2200 rounds. In the last 240 rounds shot, there were three BTF occasions. Mind you this is with the Apex FRE installed. It did however have the 336 ejector, which I just swapped out today for the 30274 model......now I will see what's next.

    Wow...this thread is still alive!

Just thought I'd pop in and say that I have a little over 2000 rounds through my Gen 3 G19 with the Apex extractor and no lowered ejection port and the thing has run 100%. No BTF not even close. Ejects like my old gen 2 G17.

So I am not sure if you HAVE to lower the ejection port...mine is living proof that they can run fine without lowering the port.

I think that by 2000 rounds...if it was to be a problem...it would have showed up by now.

After buying a new 19 that suffered the ejection issues, I found an older 19 and noticed something with the ejection port. Notice the extension and different angle just below the extractor on the new vs old. Old is on bottom and right. Could this be part of the problem?

I've got two Glock pistols. One is a department-issued G22 Gen4 (SBAxxx) serial. I'm not totally happen the ejection pattern (It hits me in the head sometimes), but it's been decently reliable. Through approximately 2,000 rounds, I've had maybe three malfunctions (two stovepipes, one failure to return to battery).
I recently procured a new Gen3 G19 (UNFxxx) serial. So far it has been completely reliable, with good ejection. Admittedly though, I only have about 300 rounds through it so far.

I recently purchased a Glock Gen 3-19 in FDE serial number begins with THH, has the 336 ejector, test fire dat 8-7-12. So it looks like i may have one of the affected G19s. I'm working through this and some of the other threads to learn more about the potential issue(s) I may encounter with the ejector/extractor. But I am still a little unclear on some points...

I have only put 400 rounds through it. But based upon some of the reading... sometimes the issues don't start showing up until a 1000 rounds +. So do I still need to put some rounds down range to determine if this 19 is GTG?

Sad thing is my old u-notch Pre-bans are running great. But it might be my new glock that might be having trouble.

I was holding off on the Apex extractor, really just being to cheap to pay $60 for the part. I was able to deal with the forehead shots every now and again. Today I took a hot casing to the eye. Stuck between my eye and glasses! Luckily it didn't get my eyeball. Pissed about that, and now I'm going to bite the bullet and give the Apex a shot. Have people bought the Apex extractor, and still encountered btf casings?

I have about 8K on my Apex Glock FRE now. It took a little bit to wear in it seems, but I haven't had any brass to the noggin in at least 6K. Haven't cleaned it in ~3K and it just chugs right along.

Mine was never problematic with failures to eject once I had the new ejector, but brass to the face was common.
