Glock Extractor Issues Gen 4 - Gen 3

My late model Gen 3 G19, aside of about 10 cases out of 500 previously to the hair (which I thought were bounce's off the range walls), has now today, out of the 125 rounds I put through it, put about ten to my forehead and around five to my hair...

One hit my right eye (dominate one I use to shoot with), thankfully I had eye protection on!

Two hit me square between the eyes (again, eye protection worked as intended lol).

Out of about 250 rounds about one or two casings to the face per mag. Multiple types of ammo.
First few mags had some landing on my left arm but that cleared up. They're strongly clearing the gun well but not in the right direction



I'm looking to buy some bulk 9mm soon. Has anyone had any specific brand that they had any particular luck with? I know It wont fix the problem but the Federal and PMC stuff I was using seemed to be the worst.

Any recommendations?

Sellier & Bellot is very good Czech ammo that is slightly hotter than your average American plinking ammo. In most cases, if you can find it, its about the same or less in cost compared to WWB/Federal/Blazer. Good luck.

I've had the same issues with Winchester RA9T & NATO 124 gr ammo. I really don't think there is an ammo solution to this problem.

I tried the S&B and that's what I was thinking of getting. It worked "well" in comparison. It didn't smell like someone farted in my face like the PMC did.

I know there isn't a fix but I know some work better than others.

I was also considering Speer lawman
Either 115gr or 147gr

Doesn't seem to be much info on this site about it...
Price seems decent.

Any feedback on this stuff? Does grain really matter?

Obviously im new to handguns.

I just picked up a case of Speer Lawman at a gun show. I haven't shot any yet, but I can keep you updated if you want.

It's pretty much the only training ammo I run. I carry Speer Gold 147 gr. as a defensive round, so I like having the same manufacturer/same weight for my training ammo and I've never had an issue with the Lawman (or Gold Dot, for that matter) in over a decade. You can usually find some pretty good deals buying online, and get it for almost the same price as WWB or American Eagle.

I've shot Speer Lawman 115, 124, & 147 with very good success out of my Gen4 G17. It prefers 147gr FMJ over anything else as far as accuracy goes, and is the smoothest load for recoil/lack of muzzle flip. And be prepared, the 115gr Lawman is quite snappy (as far as 9mm goes) and has a noticeably different (i.e. louder) rapport, lol

Yep, feels/acts like a 115+P load. Ran fine out of my Gen4G19.

I think im going to go ahead and get a case of the 147gr lawman.

Worst case scenario ill sell the unused portion if it doesn't work out.

Ill probably pick up a half case of the 115 as well.
