    My New Daniel Defense DDM4

My new DDM4. There is nothing really custom about it except for the 14.5" barrel. After having attended enough low-light training I've come to realize that the front of the front sight base mounted X200/X300 light set-up is hands down one of the easiest to use set-ups on the market. I decided to buy a DDM4 just for this purpose. I could not be more pleased with it so far.

    - Complete factory Daniel Defense DDM4 w/DD 14.5" barrel.
    - ADCO installed and pinned Surefire FH556-212A Flash Hider/Adapter
    - EoTech EXPS3-0
    - Daniel Defense rear sight
    - Blue Force Gear Redi-Mod
    - Blue Force Gear front sling mount
    - Blue Force Gear Vickers Tactical sling
    - Tango Down SCAR rail panels
    - Tango Down Battlegrip
    - Tango Down short vert grip
    - Vltor IMOD
    - Surefire X300

How are you liking the EXPS? Is the mount holding up well?

Very nice. I was debating cutting my DDM4 down to 14.5, but sold it and went with a 14.5" mid-length instead.

That looks like a very handy set up.

That is an awesome setup. I am also curious to hear how you are liking the EoTech.

Excellent configuration. Have you seen this upper from DD?

Daniel Defense M4 URG, v1 LW (14.5 in. Lightweight Barrel)

Pretty cool option with a pencil barrel.

Why does everyone run their EOTech so far forward? I have the same sights and my EOTech is as close to the rear sight as possible. I understand if there is a magnifier behind it, but otherwise why not get the largest FOV through the sight as possible by pushing it back?

Speaking personally, the farther away from my eye the optic is, the larger field of view I actually have. How much of that field of view is through the optic is almost irrelevant.

Further out you see through AND around the optic. Too close to your eye, and you've forced yourself to only look through it.

I'm speaking as a certified one way range warrior though...so take it with a grain of salt.
