Another boar hog bites the dust at 245 yards in the pouring rain and foggy mist!

I've been following this thread long enough that I ought to know; but you've got a green rifle and a black one... which is the 223, and which is the 308?

The green one is a HK MR556, two others are black SIG 556s, and two others are SIG 716 7.62mm.

You can tell which one is a .308 by the size of the magazine!

That HK 556 has a FLIR GS T-70 thermal imaging scope, an ACOG TA02 LED day optic, a Truijicon RMR 3.5MOA Red Dot, and a ATPIAL-C 850nm IR laser/IR Illuminator with 550nm visible red laser on it. Plus there is a FLIR LS-64 handheld thermal scanner on the hogs head too.

Truijicon makes a specific mount for their RMR red dot on their ACOGs.

The FLIR T-70 in this mode is a clip-on with a day optic scope, my ACOG. You can also use the FLIR as a standalone with no day optic. In clip on mode you simply use the LaRue QD to take the FLIR off or on in two seconds.

Total weight of guns and ammo and optics is about 11 pounds, more on .308.

Do you have to be very selective about shot placement with the 5.56 TSX?

I read on one forum where a guy was having difficulty with a 7-08, because he couldn't get adequate penetration from certain angles. To remedy that, he went to a .458 SOCOM

I'm curious about your take on that.
