    Which buffer for my setup?

    Hey guys,

I am almost finished with my new upper and I am switching my A2 stock to a Magpul UBR. I am totally lost as to which buffer I should go with.

my upper consists of a mid-length 14.5" barrel and I have an auto BGC on order. I will be occasionally be switching back to my 20" RRA varmint upper. What weight buffer/spring does everyone prefer with a similar setup as these? thanks

I would start with a standard carbine buffer and GI spring. I've run a couple of 20" rifle uppers with that setup with no issues. I don't have experience with a 14.5" midlength but all I've read is that they typically have just enough gas and do not want a heavier buffer or stiffer spring.

The heavier buffers are really a patch for less than optimal gas setups.

I'd use an H or H2 buffer with that setup.

H runs good in my 14.5 middy.

    I second the H.

I've been running an H2 in my BCM 14.5 middy with no issues besides a failure to lock on empty mags if running weak ammo, H would be a better all around choice.
