    Pinned LoPro Gas Block

Who makes a pinned lo pro gas block that will fit under a LaRue handguard on a LMT diameter barrel?

All "pinned" low profile gas block are pinned when they are installed on the barrel (they don't come pre-drilled).

VLTOR, DD, LT all fit under a LT rail.

    Grant,

Thanks for the reply. I guess my question should have been. If I wanted to run a longer (11") handguard on a 14.5 LMT barrel without chopping up a front sight how would I get a gas block that is pinned on? Do I need to buy an upper that was built this way from the manufacturer? I don't like screwed on gas blocks. I know I posted something about this a while back but I am now ready to build a new gun.

    Thanks

YOu can do it with a standard set screw block. Install it and have it drilled for a pin. It would be best to do it on a mill. You could do a 0/2 taper pin or a straight pin.

I have found that the DD clamp on gas block will not fit through the back of the LaRue tube. It does fit under the railed tube so it can be used but it has to be installed with the rail already installed and the flat head allens are tightened through the holes in the rail.

Any GB can be pinned onto a barrel.

Is there a particular block you would recommend?

I like VLTOR gas blocks, IMHO the best low pro gas blocks made.

Agree, VLTOR's are top notch. I also like DD's new gas block as well.

I like the Vltor and LaRue (for barrels with taper pin cuts) for set screw type blocks.

The DD is a nice design but I was dissapointed with the machining finish in the bores and it had a loose gas tube fit.

I've seen neither effect function. 'fit and finish' doesn't necessarily mean something works. Warts and all the DDs works, it's really that simple.

ETA: 'shaving' a FSB is also an option, it's not the prettiest thing but it works. Here's two I've done (I've done many but only take pics of these two). Both are LMTs and will fit under LaRue or DD Lite Rails.
