Eotech 3X G23 Magnifier with FTS mount?

I have and Eotech XPS3-0 and was debating on getting a Eotech 3X G23 w/FTS mount. Are they worth the money or have any real significant advantage other than being able to go from zero magnification to 3X magnification?
I'm on the fence about the 3X magnifier or another Trijicon ACOG.

I have a 551 with a fts 4x. For what its worth the magnifier is crystal, and the mount is solid, but the magnifier stays in the safe on the majority of range trips. If I could do it again I would not buy the magnifier.
