    Aimpoint M3 Brightness problem

    This is kind of wierd.

Today, packing up for the range, I grab my M4 to mount the magnifier, I look down the sight and I cant see the dot.

I turn the optic on and I notice its already on, (its ALWAYS on) I leave it at 6 or 7 usually, I keep turning it up and I can barely see the dot.

I turn it off and then back on...still can BARELY see it at setting 9 and 10.

It struck me as wierd, especially since the battery has only been in it for a year, this is the M3 and it should be good for 3 more years at LEAST.

I go buy a new battery, throw it in just now.

I cant see the dot until setting 7 and its BARELY visible, 8 is normal and 9 and 10 is how it should be, super bright and "Halo'ed".

There is no low setting anymore.

    Whats going on with it?

I tried getting a pic, but level 7 wont even show up in the picture.

    8 just washes it out.

    Could it be the switch?

Are you sure it's not an Eotech?

(just checked my irons... they're still working!)

Just kidding, guys. Don't go getting all assed up.

Ya I know what you mean, but something definately wrong with it.

Today was overcast, I checked it in the house too.

it doesnt even become VISIBLE until 7, and even then its BARELY visible.

I Emailed them. I just found the problem today.

I was basically seeing if this happened to anyone else to get an idea what was wrong.

I bought it from LaRue, contacted Will, he was helpful like always.

LaRue is one of Aimpoints biggest sellers so I doubt there will be any problem.

I will also update this thread as I go in case anyone else has this or a similar problem

    Ya me too.

I have talked to Will numerous times. That guy is a badass at his job. Just an all around good guy to deal with.

I wish I could get an actual pic of what its doing, just to have reference for the thread and to show whats going on with it.
