Vickers Tactical Pistol II: Sept 14-15 2012, Omaha

What: Vickers Tactical 2 day Pistol 2

When: Sep. 14th – 15th, 2012

Where: Omaha, NE

Details: I am pleased to announce that I am hosting Larry Vickers for his 2 Day Pistol Level 2 course. This course is being conducted at a private range, due to their restrictions the class is only being offered to the following personnel: MIL/LE/CIVILIAN CCW PERMIT HOLDERS.

Cost: 475.00

Again, total agreement with Foobar. Fantastic class with more than enough space and work area to perform virtually every drill that Larry is known for.

Looking forward to 2013 time frame!

A short overview of the course.

Location: Council Bluffs, IA / Omaha, NE
Weather: 50's - 80's, sunny.
Students: 20, mix of LE/MIL/CCW.
Topics covered:

Safety brief.

Range limitations:
- The “Square range” VS reality.

Training Courses:
- Selection of courses.
- Round count and its effect on accuracy.

Equipment Selection and set up:
- Firearms / Sights / Lights / Magazines

Cleaning and maintenance.

Accuracy:
- Why it’s important.
- Things to consider: Shooter is moving / Target is moving.

Shooting Stance.

Follow through, Scan and Assess:
- Methods and reasoning.

Trigger manipulation:
- Trigger control.
- Trigger reset.

Sights:
- Sight Picture.
- Wobble Zone.
- Point Shooting.

Presentation from the holster:
- Present / Pause / Press

Support / Weak Side shooting.

Reloads:
- Slide Lock / Emergency Reload.
- Tactical Reload.
- IPSC Speed Reload.
- Auto loading.

Magazine / Equipment placement.

Malfunctions:
- Tap / Rack / Back.
- Rip Drill.

Shooting on the Move:
- Forward / Backward.

Night Fire:
- Flashlight Holds.
- Selection of EQP.
- Placement of lights during reloads.
- Deployment techiques.

Drills:
- Dry Fire.
- Command Dry Fire.
- Ball and Dummy.
- Command Fire Ball and Dummy.
- 3 / 6 / 9.
- The Test.
- The Half Test.
- Presentation Drills.
- Shooting on the move: Forward or Backward.

Another detailed and thorough course by LAV. The students were constantly held to the accuracy standard, and efficiency of movement was stressed throughout the course.
