My NSR rail came with the pin. There is no mention of the pin in the instructions though. I can't take any measurements since its in the gun now.

Here's mine. The 13.5 NSR replaced a 9" SWS Noveske rail.

Why does Noveske sell a 14.5" barrel only with a 11" nsr? A 13.5" nsr on a 14.5" barrel would be great.

Not sure why, probably just their preference. I know you can get them with the 13.5, because I went through a Noveske dealer to get a lightweight stainless steel 14.5 with 13.5 NSR and pinned battle comp.

Shouldn't be an issue, just contact your preferred Noveske dealer and have them put in an order swapping the 11" for a 13".

As 2nd.Amendment stated, Noveske will configure a 14.5" upper with the 13.5" NSR if you request. Check with your favorite dealer or contact Noveske directly. If neither has them in stock, then it could be 6-12 weeks lead time...the current lead time I was given by Noveske. One reason it may not be an advertised option on Noveske's website is there might be clearance issues when configured with the 51T Blackout and used with a suppressor. I do not know this for certain, so don't quote me on that. Here are some pics of some 14.5" Noveske uppers with the NSR-13.5:

    Noveske 14.5" Light Carbine 5.56mm w/ NSR-13.5 and AAC 51T Blackout

    Noveske 14.5" Light Carbine 5.56mm w/ NSR-13.5 and BattleComp 1.5

    Noveske 14.5" Rogue Hunter 5.56mm w/ NSR-13.5 and BattleComp 1.5

Noveske 14.5" Afghan 6.8mm w/ Barrel Fluting, NSR-13.5 and BattleComp BABC

hmmmmm... I really love my 13.5" NSR on my 16" BCM Middy.

I'm considering sending off my Noveske 10.5" MK18 upper and having them swap the RIS II off and install a 9" NSR rail.
save me almost 9 oz (not including the barrel nut) and give me a sleeker package.

Yeah, my barrel is exactly 16" with a pinned SF MB556K brake, which is evidently longer than most (so I dont think my barrel is 14.5"--prolly 14 or 14.25"). It looks like there's only 1/4th inch or less between the brake and the end of the 13.5" NSR (unlike in those NSR pics, which have .5 inches or more of clearance).

I've been thinking about a suppressor, so I'm gonna check fitment this week. I can't remove anything except the forearm, so I may end up looking to trade for an 11" rail (I think more people wish their rails were longer rather than shorter--I know my TRX-Es, at 11", seemed a bit short). My T-Rex arms generally only go out 10.5-11.5" anyway....but it's nice to have room for your thumb without front sights and a light getting in the way.

Speaking of thumbs--the GOOD news is that feeling has finally returned to my right one, 3-4 days after installing the panels. The bad news is that I want to back all the panels up an inch or so...I don't own a hair-dryer, so here's to hoping they loosen up a bit with break-in.
