Tavor, if you were going to get one....

If you were going to get a Tavor in the USA, legally....which one?

I am thinking brown.
I am thinking full length rail.
I am not sure about the barrel length.

I'm thinking an 18 inch barrel if at all available. Shouldn't be too long to handle considering the bull pup design.

Positives and negatives please.

The difference is 1.5 inches.

FDE, 18" w/ Bayo Lug. Then suppress it. Sexy.

This is what I'll get if I actually pull the plug and get one.

I got one

But I already want another one! I'd love a FDE with a full top rail and a 15" SBR barrel installed. Hell, maybe a 5.45 conversion kit too.

I'd love a 18" fde model but unfortunately they are only offering a black 16" in the LH factory configuration.

Buy a replacement barrel! Between Canada and IWI US's substantial aftermarket support I'm sure you'll be able to find something!

Viper237, it is my understanding that all you need to make the rifle left handed is a new bolt, I could be wrong though.

Is it possible to fire the gun in right-hand configuration, using a left hand hold, without getting wacked by brass or gas?

My plan is to get the 16.5" blk model. It looks like it will be a bit shorter than the 12.5" SBR I have in the works, and look forward to comparing the two. I have a little game going to see which I get first, my stamp or my TAVOR.

TV-PressPass, thanks for the video! I thought I read that it is not an issue if one wanted, or in my case will need, to run that way.

You have some great country to go shooting in! I am quite envious.

Wow that was much better than I was expecting.

I know all you need is a LH bolt but thats more $ out of pocket. Of course if I was lookin for resale value having a RH bolt may not be a bad idea.

Thanks guys I had a great time shooting that one.

I like having a military and a civilian bolt. Given the option I'd buy a left handed bolt too just for the extra flexibility.

Was it this thread where someone was discussing changing the charging handle but leaving the bolt? I'm tempted to try that to keep the charging handle operation the same mechanic as my Vz58, and to improve light placement . . . we'll see when I get my Tavor back from the shop.

Where did you pre-order it from? I've been pining over one of these for close to 2 years now. If they do become domestically available next year I will definitely be purchasing one.
