I run standard Daniel Defense and Colt BCG's in both my rifles coated in Fire Clean. They run just fine with minimal cleanup. Save your money for ammo or mags, The next big squeeze is always around the corner.

SIONICS looks to be onto something. They advise that you don't need any oil, grease, or other lube when using their BCG's.
I own exactly 1 Nickel Boron carrier. It just happened to be what we had in stock when I needed a BCG right now. What I can say is that I've repaired about 30 leaking carrier keys on these carriers. I think the heat involved when applying that coating warps the keys or something.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the "patented Nickel Boron (Ni-B) UCT EXO process" used on the AAC IBCG (Improved bolt carrier group)?
Google hasn't helped me find any good data on it.
Just bought one, haven't done anything with it yet.
Fairly disappointed at the level of plugging going on here in an NIB vs Raw technical thread. There was some interesting discussions going on before the derailment.
Seems like it is happening in every thread that carries the word "carrier" or "bolt" ...shrug.
Interesting. I have not had one leak on me, but I do hear a ton of horror stories about that very thing. From what I understand most of it boils down to they don't coat each part individually like they should, they just toss in the finished carriers causing expansion issues and the like.
I have had two (NiB), one I never used and traded with an upper, the other used for very few rounds. Because I am not a high-round count shooter I did not see any difference; that said, I did switch it out with a BCM.
