So, now that at least one user has gotten their hands on the new lighter barrels. How is the balance now? That's the one thing holding me back from grabbing the LMT vs just swallowing the big gulp and ponying up for a KAC.

Got my new LM8 slick chassis in today, it's surprisingly not really any lighter than the full railed MWS chassis.
Bare MWS chassis: 2 lbs, 1.7oz
Bare LM8 chassis: 2 lbs, 0.9oz
The ergonomics are much better due to the reduced diameter though IMO.
Based upon my measurements and KingOpticsUSA's photos, the LW barrel will cut 10.6 oz (0.6625 lbs) from the standard 16" CL barrel.

Good judgment comes from experience. And experience… well, that comes from poor judgment.
I originally meant that optic for a BCM 5.56 upper (in a ADM Recon Scout mount), but I like it better on the MWS for now.
I may either get a VX-R 3-9 Patrol for the BCM upper, or switch this out for a Viper PST 4-16.

Just added an LM8 MRP 5.56 to the lineup. So now I have the MWSE, a Piston CQB MRP with 12.5" and the LM8 with the 10.5" barrel. I don't know what the weight difference is between the LM8 and the MRP is but it does seem significant to me. I really like how it feels. Now what to do with all those extra barrels I have?
I am considering an Aimpoint Micro T@ on a Larue mount for the LM8.
