Raven Concealment Holsters - Check Them Out! ***Pictures***

Raven Concealment Phantom Light Compatible Holster for the Glock 17 with Surefire x300 attached.

All I can say is WOW.....First of all, I changed my order twice - GREAT communication from Jay and both times said changing the order was "no problem" and "no trouble".

It was supposed to take around thirty days to ship out - it took 16.

It arrived and the first thing I noticed was how tight it held the gun in place - with no movement, and how thin the overall profile was -

I put the holster on and was impressed at how tight it held the gun to my body.

I threw a polo on over the rig and liked how it didn't hang low, it was basically invisible, and I haven't even tried the IWB overhooks out yet.

I got in the car and took a 2hr drive - I never knew concealing a fullsize pistol with a weapon mounted light could be this comfortable WHILE SITTING.

Another feature is being able to get a full grip on the pistol. This is very important, as I carry my child with my left arm while in public.

The holster comes with a lifetime warranty as outlined on their website:

"Our products are made in the USA, by Americans. They are constructed of the highest quality materials, and are meticulously fitted, assembled, and finished. Because of this rigorous attention to detail, we proudly cover everything we make with an unconditional lifetime guarantee."
- ravenconcealment.com

I placed my order through themalabarfront.com and couldn't be any happier.

I've tried many holsters from the likes of Bladetech, Comptac, Galco, Kramer, Fobus, Uncle Mikes, Blackhawk the list goes on.....And I can emphatically say Raven Concealment has got them all beat!

**Local Gunshop Reaction**

I went into my local gunshop today to get some XS Big Dot night sights put on my g17 (another positive, the XS big dots ARE compatible with the holster), when I drew the gun/light from the holster eyes instantly were attracted to the new rig. Needless to say I happened to have Raven Concealment's business card 'stolen' - I'll have to get some more!

I have heard alot of good things about Raven (even before this thread). I think they are on the right track. I'd love to get one and try it out.

Now only to get the wife tolet me spend the money.

Absolutely love mine... I've got the Phantom (non-light version) for my M&P and it is great. Both OWB and with the IWB clips. The kydex is the perfect thickness and slightly curved to fit your body. I HIGHLY recommend. It's fast and fit perfectly to the gun.

It looks like good stuff. Does the holster stay snug with use?

So far, yes. I can't wait to get it to the range and run some drills.

Raven makes great stuff. I just ran my Phantom holster and double mag pouch through 4 days of pistol/carbine with LAV and the gear performed superbly.

I have over 2000 presentations from the holster with my G19 and haven't noticed any deterioration in retention or any kydex splitting.

i just got my belt holster from raven on tuesday. it hold the butt of my 1911 so tight against my gut that it hurts sometimes. good stuff. only complaint is that the overall "footprint" of the holster is quite large.

Ditto for all the great comments I have experienced with mine - only a couple weeks at that and as mentioned before, got it in half the time promised. I have been using it in the OWB config. Phantom for a G19

Question - I have the hooks for an IWB config, but the clips are fairly "clunky" for me here. I recall a post a time back for some decent positive clips to use instead of these C-clips of sorts. Can anyone recommed some for me to use in their stead for IWB?

Brian

I prefer the rubber loops for IWB purpose. I tried the over hook clips but didn't like them, the clips tend to try to work itself off the belt.

Holy massive holster Batman! Have you considered something that's one-piece, and therefore, smaller? When I say one-piece, I mean from someone who molds and folds, not just rivets together two pieces.

You don't know a good holster when you see one. Try new things, you may find that it's a better option than what you're using now.

I grant you that at first glance Raven holsters don't look like the norm but they work far better. They conceal better than any other kydex holster I have found.

Its my first Kydex holster that ive used extensively IWB but...

Im very pleased with the Phantom LC for my M&P-9/X300.I wont claim its the most comfortable or concealable set-up,but that has much more to do with my choice in carry im sure...The holster accomplishes it about as well as could be expected.

Ive had no problem carrying IWB with a loose fit UA type tee and thin short sleeve button-up over top all summer.I could probably get away with just a loose tee,but im paranoid about printing.

I did have an issue with the J-hooks.I think i had too much weight, because the holster wanted to ride down. The J-hooks made it worse, with the way they kick out away from your body. They made the belt slide up,as the holster/pistol was already wanting to ride down.Switched to the overhooks and they work perfectly for me.

It has a nice curve to it that hugs the hip.

The retention feels perfect.it seemed a little tight at first, but it lightened up slightly after a few dozen draws and seems to have held study for well over a thousand since.

Im not sure if its part of the design,a nice accident,or expected with quality Kydex holsters but...

It draws very smoothly with the natural upward and forward movement when drawing the pistol. But its very difficult to pull with a staight upward movement or at all from the rear.I guess its just the nature of the angle, but ive noticed with other holsters that this isnt the case...or they may have just had a less optimal angle?

CS has been great for me as well.

I'll be testing that CS soon enough. Had one of the loop pieces snap in half on me in the middle of a meeting with some locals here in Baghdad the other night. Not fun. Normally I have my G19 is a thigh rig on assaults, but on this particular night I had the raven on my hip. Might have been stressed from me having my CIRAS on, but snap it did and I immediately felt the gun dip on my waist. Fortunately for me I was fully geared up, had my M4 in hand and the other loop held. I'm sure they'll make it right, but the way that thing snapped has me questioning the durability of the belt loop attachments.

RCS gear is some of the most concealable on the market....which is a big deal for those of us who carry concealed all the time. I've been very pleased with my gear from RCS.
