I have been read a post that Trident 82 did a couple of years ago. Does anyone know if Rock is still doing the SS barrels? He did a good right on the 308.
What powder are you going to use? I'm currently using 4350, but want to try RL17 ASAP. Everything I've read and heard from fellow shooters is that you gain a couple hundred feet per second faster with no adverse effects on pressure etc.
My current load was rushed together for a precision rifle class, and was very conservative at only 2,500 fps for the 142gr SMK. It was enough to get me to 1,100 yards, but the wind really started to push it after 900+ yards. At 800 yards and in the rifle shot with boring repeatability.
Regarding Rock: IIRC, the way the barrel is stamped (caliber and SS engraving) in relationship to the gas block is a clue on the manufacture. Maybe Trident can chime in.
