Anybody know the difference, other than Black Hills being about $0.50/rnd more, between the Barnes VOR-TX 62gr TSX in 5.56 and the Black Hills 62gr TSX in 5.56?

If you're wondering about the bullet, there are none. Remington also uses the same 62gr TSX in their "Hog Hammer".
Beyond the projectile, I'm sure there are differences in the actual loading (brass, powder, sealants, etc.). However, I'm not versed enough to identify the specifics of those variances. I would think one can generally expect similar performance out of each.

Thanks. In the 5.56 loading, has anybody found out if they generate the same velocity?

Look what mister Brown just brought. A bunch of these.
I'll post chronograph results this weekend.

Ok, here are the chrono results.

So, clearly Vor-TX is the better buy. Higher average velocity and lower deviation in both SBR and carbine configurations.
Thanks for the data. For me, they're close enough that I'd buy whichever is less expensive. Which I believe is the Barnes version. It'd be interesting to see how the Remington version stacks up.

I think the Remington is only available in .223, right? Or do they offer it in a 5.56 load as well?
