"you give peace a chance, I'll stay here and cover you, in case it doesn't work out"
As far as just Benelli, I have an M1 super, 14", and an M3.
My first firearm was my M1super 90, runs like a bat out of hell. I liked it so much I bought another so I had a pair. Also have:
97 trench, Mdl 12 trench, 590 Vang comped, a M121, H & K 512 , Browing A-5 Police gun, Rhodesian marked and an 870.
I guess it is good that I do not collect shotguns.
Matt
Beretta 1201FP, Benelli Nova Tac, Rem 1100. Of the 3 the Remington is probably my favorite although I shot a perfect round of skeet with the Beretta 1201FP you shoulda seen the looks from the O/U crew. I also own 1 Beretta 390, 1 Winchester Supreme O/U. And have owned 11/87's, 870's, Beretta 686, Beretta Pintail, Browning Gold and A5's and a Citori trap, Ithica 37 and Century series trap, Mossberg 500 and 9200. I'm kind of a shotgun guy.

S-12 awaiting a conversion.
A Benelli M1 Super 90 and a Winchester Defender with a Pachmayr pistol grip and forend (very compact).
I would like to get a Benelli M4 but can't afford it.
Bit of advice... those bandoleer slings are a detriment to more than what you have discovered; the weight of a dozen plus shotgun shells swinging back and forth under a shouldered gun, make holding the gun steady on target next to impossible.
Not sure what the odds are of you ever having to carefully exclude good guys from your field of fire... but that sling don't make it any easier, trust me
I put the "Amateur" in Amateur Radio...
I have a Benelli M4, a 590, and a bunch of 870's...I have to say I've never shot the M4, mainly because I always seem to grab something else..
They are really nice shotguns...I'm not sure if they are worth all the money compared to a basic 870 though...
In the event of a SHTF situation I'd have to think the 870 or 590 would be a better choice in the long run..they both are extremely durable and parts are always around..
The M4 was sort of a "cool" purchase and might get sold..lol
