SBR barrel gas port help

I have one of those barrels and it runs very smooth with 5.56 pressure ammo, standard carrier, A5H3 buffer and Omega suppressor. It will also lock back in empty with .223 ammo unsupressed.

From my experience the bcm’s SBR uppers will run weak Ammo once you add a suppressor. I know people say they have conservative gas ports but mine run Tula and wolf just fine with a suppressor and still seem “over gassed” with an h3 buffer and blue springco spring.

I would go with an 11.5” for red dot or if you like irons the the 12.5” kino style. I love mine with an iron sight carry handle.

I wish BCM made an ELW 12.5" though I could see why it wouldn't sell very well. I also wish centurion still made their 12.5" barrels. I only have one centurion barrel, but it is a nice one.

I’m not a fan of anything keymod nor a fan of the KMR. So my three cents:

So did you decide 11.5 or 12.5???

If 12.5 the get an 11” sub 11” barrel for the ones I linked to below.

Also as you’re running an short barrel, I would also recommend a different BCG setup. As part of my hard use AR, I only run LMT BCG’s, however with my SBR’s , I have had great results with Enhanced LMT bolt carrier with the standard LMT bolt. I have heard absolutely great things about marrying the LMT Enhanced Carrier with the Sionics Bolt Completion kit. I mean GREAT things-by guys I consider “in the know” and who run their SBR’s hard.

I’m going to post this and go grab one or two of the Sionics Completion kits- but if budget doesn’t allow, I started off with just the LMT FA BCG. (L7D3 part number. The LMT enhanced carrier is a L7Q3A)

I have several LaRue rails. If you want to talk about just hardcore durability - you just won’t find better. I also like how tight and true they lock up.

My other first choice rail manufacturer is Centurion. I’ve said it before but Monty and Corrie just Good To Go in my book. Above and beyond I. Taking care of me and others that I know firsthand who have Sisley stories to mine.

I’m about a hairsbreadth away from getting a Centurion Arms 12.5 (and there was much rejoicing) and I will either run an 11” LaRue or an 11” CMR. Jury is still deliberating, but it will be o e of those. They are both outstanding and a tall cut above the rest.
