Any thoughts on the Ballistic Advantage Hanson profile barrel for my needs?

    You could do better. I had two, I purchased a 9mm 5.5" and someone gave a me a 16" 556 on a trade. I don't own either now.

If your iffy on the Sionics go with BCM or DD but both will be overgased with a can.

There’s literally no good reason to buy a government profile barrel. I don’t know why companies are even making them still.

Agreed. I hope monty does an 11.5in and 12.5in run again. My sionics RGP barrel is equal with my knights cqb mod 2.

Wow, I hadn't even seen the lack of 11.5 option, it's been a while. Yeah, If a 12.5 run happened I would buy a few barrels. Maybe even a couple complete uppers.

Care to give a barrel you would recommend then, rather than ones you wouldnt?

    Yes

Anyone who wants to tune their shorty to function both suppressed and unsupressed, should read through this thread- https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread...essed-SBR-Ever

However, it's been my experience that once you install a suppressor on a shorty, there's no reason to ever shoot it unsuppressed. Simplifies tuning as well.

There's several good brands being recommended in the thread, I'm just saying that if the company offers the same barrel in a non-gov profile, that's a far better purchase.
