You will need to use a .308 rifle buffer, I’m assuming the bushmaster is a .223.
Yes, and they are easy enough to take off and try. I am no gunsmith, barely handy but can change a stock on a good day.

The stock body and tube are compatible.
The buffer and spring must be an AR10 rifle buffer and AR10 spring.

Wasn't sure about the spring and buffer, Is there a certain size buffer for Armalite AR10's with the rifle stock?
There are standard sizes, Clint above can help you if you want more specifics. There are standard AR15 Springs and Buffers and same as AR10. But Clint can potentially give you something better than standard. Tell exactly what you are running and what you would like. Suppressor or never a suppressor how long is barrel, make mfg etc.

Yes, AR10 rifle buffers are shorter than AR15 rifle buffers.

The rifle receiver extension tube is the same for AR10 & AR15.
The AR10 action has a longer stroke, therefore the AR10 buffer is shorter.
Or to put it in more historically appropriate context, the AR10 came first and is the "base" design.
When the AR15 was designed using the same stock and RE tube, they used a longer AR15 buffer to shorten the stroke.
